INFORMATION:
Hello, and welcome to Saltburnt. Over the last several months, I've been collecting pertinent information for new arrivals, and finally compiled them here. Please let me know if you have any questions that aren't addressed below.
You aren't dreaming. Please don't try to jump off the roof or do things that would normally hurt you in the real world. They will hurt you here too.
You can't leave. You're welcome to try, I won't stop you and neither will the Balfours, but you won't get very far before waking up here again with a horrible headache. The range we can travel is fairly large, and seems to consistently extend an equidistant amount from the house in all directions.
All rooms and facilities are free for guest use at any time, day or night -- including a pool, zoo, spa, various gyms/training rooms, meat room and several bars/small restaurants. A few of these -- Sol & Scroll, Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Hex Club -- are run by guests.
The house changes. Rooms move, fixtures and decorations change, sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically. Your mind isn't playing tricks on you. Usually if you keep walking, you'll either run into Giles or get where you were heading, eventually.
You can request items from the library, for free, but whoever/whatever is in charge of things has an obnoxious creative sense of humor, so you might not get exactly what you wanted.
Dinner is black-tie. All meals are served at the same time, daily.
New arrivals come every other month. People vanish at random, at any moment -- we assume they go home. But we don't know.
So far, all our material wants have been provided for. I don't know how long that will last, so I've prepared for the worst. If you need something specific, please let me know and I'll do my best to find it. Update: the events of February have all but diminished my stores. If anyone is able/willing to help me replenish, I'd be very thankful.
There is, in fact, an underground sex club that runs 24/7. That isn't just a weird rumor.
People don't stay dead here. There are specific rules to it -- I'd be happy to explain in more detail, but it doesn't come without consequences, and there will almost definitely be someone angry -- we've become very close to each other.
Parties happen on a monthly basis, and seemingly spring up overnight. They seem to be optional, so far, but please be careful eating or drinking anything -- there's usually some sort of inhibition-lowering effect.
It's unclear why we're here. The Balfours and their staff aren't forthcoming, but they aren't aggressive. They won't hurt you. Don't trust them, anyway.
Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you.
Koby
